BEC MANAGEMENT BOARD
The voluntary Board comprises two business / community members from each of the three council areas of Bombala, Cooma-Monaro and Snowy River and two representatives from regional businesses / community organisations. Positions not filled under the membership categories are open to casual vacancy election. The Board meets eight to ten times per year.
Eligibility for membership to the Board is that Board members should have a regional focus (not parochial), be a respected member of the community, and preferably be in business, or a professional with skills appropriate to providing strategic and policy guidance to the BEC management. The Board approved a change to the Constitution for 2009 to permit current serving council employees and Councillors to stand as Board members.
