IT Skill Development
A two year project that aims to increase productivity, profitability and sustainability of enterprises in the Snowy Mountains and Monaro region. It uses IT and financial specialists to provide skill development for enterprise owner / managers and supports this with mentoring.

Ten of those businesses will be selected to continue the program and be provided with "one-on-one", individual, intensive IT specialist mentoring assistance from an IT expert to implement their IT development plan. Further details on the IT Mentoring Program available on this link.
Profit Management and Succession Planning
The second year focuses on assisting enterprise managers and owners better manage their profits from a business and personal perspective, whilst putting in place strategies to plan for exit and succession to ensure enterprise sustainability. It will focus on skilling 30 businesses in profit management, succession planning and exit strategy development through five days of workshops with an expert financial adviser. Simple plans of action will be developed for each of these areas.

Profit Management and Successsion Planning Business Mentoring
Ten of those businesses will be provided with mentor assistance by the BEC business coach and individual business mentors to assist them furthering their plans. Further details on the Profit Management and Succession Planning Mentoring on this link.
Mentor Skill Development
Existing business people provided with 4 days free training in small business mentoring skills based on the International APEC business counselling certification program.
Mentors are to be available to assist the BEC for two hours per month for five months in 2009. Whilst voluntary we will fund any travel expenses incurred.
Whilst small business experience would be an advantage, it is not essential. You may feel you have special skills and expertise to offer as a business mentor.
