PAST PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS
The following programs and projects are those that the BEC has managed or assisted.
Snowy Monaro Small Business Growth Program (2005 to 2006)
This two-year program provided 32 local businesses with ten days of skill development throughout 2005.
Ten of those businesses were selected to continue the program throughout 2006 and be provided with intensive business assistance through the BEC business coach and an individual mentor to further their growth plans.
Monaro Agricultural Partnership Program (1999 to 2001)
Monaro Agricultural Partnership Program (MAPP) was a community driven agricultural development program for the South East NSW area known as Monaro, that operated from 2001 to 2004.
MAPP was to be the catalyst to respond to the issues facing the Monaro regional community and its agricultural industry. A number of agricultural and related industry projects were developed.
A funding submission to the Commonwealth Government's Agricultural Development Partnership (ADP) Program for a Monaro ADP was successful.
The Commonwealth government agreed to fund Monaro ADP Phase 1 which included most of the MAPP project, was contingent on joint funding with NSW Government.
NSW Government's funding conditions were not consistent with the program objectives and the program ceased in December 2004. It was recommended that the Southern Rivers Catchment Management Authority continue the program.
